Download to PC
Files are downloaded to the PC for two main reasons:

  1. To play on the PC
  2. To transfer to a device that has no connection to the internet e.g. iPod.

To DRM or not to DRM?
The short answer is it is up to you. We can implement either, in many forms.

Digital Rights Management (DRM) has received a lot of press. Much of it confusing and contradictory. Here's the a quick rundown on the issues both for and against.

DRM:

Download to the mobile

This is done in two ways:

  1. Over the air direct to a mobile phone
  2. Via a PC

There are dozens of formats and file size variations for each type of down-loadable content to be delivered to hundreds of different types of mobile handsets, many of which cannot receive files from a computer.

Examples of file formats would be MP3, WAV, MIDI, SP-MIDI, AMR-WB, SMAF. Each phone has a different screen size with a different ratio between the height and the width of the screen, and so on...

Our mobile delivery platform allows the correct format to be delivered automatically to the mobile device.

How it works
During the process of delivering a file over the air to a phone, the phone gives it's make and model number. Our platform then looks up that on a database of phone technical data and works out what file should be delivered to the phone. All of this is done without the knowledge of the user which produces a seamless download experience.
